November Summary

On Thursday, November 4th we held our sixth First Thursday day of prayer. Again we had two locations. We utilized all or parts of 2 Corinthians 5 as our scripture reading.

At Craig’s office about 40 people participated. There were a number of prayer requests that were put into a prayer request box during the month. During the prayer meeting they prayed for those requests and also for other requests that were presented at the meeting.

At Carrollton City Hall, we had four people praying for our Nation. We read 2 Corinthians 5 and also some verses from Isaiah 50. An interesting observation is that often when people consider 2 Corinthians 5 and talk about the ministry of reconciliation, they put it in terms of people or groups being reconciled to each other. However, what this scripture is really talking about is God reconciling man to Himself through Jesus Christ. This allowed us to focus our prayers for our nation and leaders that people would be reconciled to God.

As this prayer meeting came two days after our national elections, we also prayed for all of the new leaders that will be sworn into the government.

Our next First Thursday Day of Prayer will be on Thursday, December 2nd. You are welcome to join us at one of our two locations. Please consider starting your own monthly prayer meeting at your city hall or place of business. Prayer is effective. Please join us!
