First Thursday Prayer – April 2017

Since May 2010 we have been meeting on the First Thursday of each month to pray for our
Nation, Leaders and Revival. Be sure to check out the new Pray Learn Go page on Facebook.

This Thursday, April 6th, we will be hosting our First Thursday prayer meetings at several locations (Dallas and Carrollton) which can be found on Meetup. If you’d like to participate at another location, please contact us and we would be glad to add your location to the Meetup group.

Each month we provide a suggested verse to guide your prayer time. This month we recommend the A.C.T.S. model of prayer using the following four verses:

Adoration

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my Savior,
my God, my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the strength of my salvation,
            my stronghold. (Psalm 18:2)

Confession

The Lord isn’t slow to do what he promised, as some people think. Rather, he is patient for your sake. He doesn’t want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to him and change the way they think and act. (2 Peter 3:9)

Thanksgiving

Through Jesus we should always bring God a sacrifice of praise, that is, words that acknowledge him. (Hebrews 13:15)

Supplication

14 This is the reason I kneel in the presence of the Father 15 from whom all the family in heaven and on earth receives its name. 16 I’m asking God to give you a gift from the wealth of his glory. I pray that he would give you inner strength and power through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will live in you through faith. I also pray that love may be the ground into which you sink your roots and on which you have your foundation. 18 This way, with all of God’s people you will be able to understand how wide, long, high, and deep his love is. 19 You will know Christ’s love, which goes far beyond any knowledge. I am praying this so that you may be completely filled with God.

20 Glory belongs to God, whose power is at work in us. By this power he can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. 21 Glory belongs to God in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time and eternity! Amen.(Ephesians 3:14-21)

Let’s use this Thursday as a call to repentance for our nation. The National Day of Prayer is two months away. Why not take a moment now to find a location near your or register to host your own National Day of Prayer. We have started to register our monthly events on their website as well!

In Carrollton, TX we meet at 11:30 at the Quizno’s just south of city hall at 11:30 for lunch. Then at noon we head over to City Hall where we pray from noon to 12:30 in front of the flag poles. I hope you’ll join us. You can find the event on Facebook.

See you Thursday!
