First Thursday Prayer – January 2023

Happy New Year!

At the federal level a new congress will start in January. In Texas, the Legislature will be in session starting in January. Many important issues to be discussed and voted on at both levels. Local governments are dealing with many important issues as well. Some have put their trust in the government. But we put our trust in the Lord our God.

We have four locations. For details please contact the leader of the location. In Denison, due to road construction immediately outside of City Hall, we will meet at Sparrows Gallery (124 W Main St) which is on the North side of Main St from City Hall.

The following A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) verses are provided to guide your prayer time. Or you may feel free to use whatever guide you choose. The important thing is that we are lifting up our city, state and nation in prayer for revival!

Adoration
Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! (Psalm 150:3-6)
Confession
For I am ready to fall,
and my pain is ever before me.
I confess my iniquity;
I am sorry for my sin. (Psalm 38:18)
Thanksgiving
I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds. (Psalm 57:9-10)
Supplication
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:14-19)
