Day 150805: at the mall

I talked to a man at the mall two weeks ago and gave him a copy of The Truth May Impact Your Opinion. He said he would read it. When I followed up last week he was busy with a customer. Today he was not there. But, I asked about the man, and the book, to a young man who was working at that Kiosk. The young man remembered seeing the book and he located it in the drawer by the cash register. This, obviously, lead to a discussion about then book and then about the Gospel. This young man was born in Pakistan, attended a Catholic school for ten years, has studied most of the main world religions, yet believes his eternity hangs in the balance of whether he has done more good than bad in his lifetime. We talked about the Ten Commandment – and he failed the good person test with just one question. And I got to tell him who the real Jesus is. He said he also would read the book. So, now I have two people to follow up with at the same kiosk!

As I left, the young man got an Are You Ready tract from the August mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club.

Day 150804: Founders Plaza

I had a long day of work – 12.5 hours. By the time I got off work I had missed dinner at home 787 @ Founders Plaza and my wife and son had gone to his cross country practice. So, I decided to stop at Founders Plaza on the way home and watch the planes come and go for a little while. There were a number of other people there watching planes, talking, hanging out. Mostly I kept to myself and gathered my thoughts about a long day. But I did talk briefly with one person and offered them an Are You Ready tract from the August mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club. They took it and thanked me.

Day 150803: Bookmark

When i arrived at the church to pack the envelopes for the September mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club there was a young man (20’s) outside. Shared the gospel with him and invited him to join us for dinner but he had left by then. We had a good conversation. When my friend John arrived i was standing on a bench giving an example of earning favor with God by works.

I gave him a bookmark and a New Testament and explained how the questions would re-inforce what we had discussed.

Day 150802: Not 1, Not 2, Not 3, Not 4 but 5 Get Out of Hell Free Cards

After church we had to run to Home Depot to pick up a few things. As I was walking in the door there were three employees standing there. They each got a Get Out of Hell Free card. When I checked out, I left a Get Out of Hell Free card on the keypad of the self checkout and then gave another one to the man overseeing the self check out line.

So I gave out not one, not two, not three, not four, but five Get Out of Hell Free cards – including one from the August mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club.

Day 150801: Thank You

The August tract club mailing contains the following four tracts: 2+2=, Get Out of Hell Free, Thank You (v2) and Are You Ready. Along with the tract club mailing you can also access online versions to share on social media or text messages.  In addition there are two bookmarks. During the month of August I’ll be blogging about handing out one of these tracts each day.2015-07-31 20.37.01

Today being Saturday I went with my wife to two Farmers Markets. The Thank You tract is so easy to give out. So, I gave one of the Thank You tracts from the mailing to someone at the market. I’m not sure who got it. Because I also gave out another 20 or more Thank You tracts to others that I met. Some were people we bought things from. Some went to people that I simple spoke to, got a sample from, etc.

I also gave out MyCard (coming in November to the Bezeugen Tract Club) to several people. One of them I had a nice one on one conversation with and shared the Gospel with him.

On the way home, I stopped at the gas station. I broadcast on Periscope (@bezeugen) about putting a tract in the gas pump slot. While the gas was pumping, I went inside and also gave a tract to the cashier who had helped me.

In the afternoon, I mailed several more tracts in business reply envelopes and posted that video on Periscope as well.

Day 150731: Created to do

The last day of the month gets the last tract of the tract club mailing. I had a contractor coming to the house to look at some warranty work. After we were done talking about the business he asked if I had any more questions. I said, “yes, are you doing today what you were created to do?” He said Yes and then gave me a great testimony of how the Lord is using him in his work to serve people and serve the Lord. It was truly awesome. I was able to tell him about the tract club and how Bezeugen is able to supply his business with tracts. He said he would discuss the tract club with his business partners.

Day 150730: Thank You

What? I know what you are thinking… The Thank You tract was not in the July mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club! You are right! But, July has 31 days. I have one tract left for two days. So I am skipping the daily tract club tract, and handed a cashier the Thank You tract since she graciously gave me a 10% discount!

Tune in tomorrow for the 30th tract of July!

Day 150729: At the gas pump

Day 150728: Periscope

CaptureBezeugen Ministries is pleased to announce that we are now on Periscope! We have done several short broadcasts already. Today I broadcast in the morning announcing the daily tract challenge, that I had three tracts left for the month. Then in the evening I broadcast again showing the distribution of one of those three tracts – placing a two cars crashing tract into a case of beer. You can download Periscope for the iPhone or Android device and then follow @bezeugen for more updates.

I also completed the daily tract challenge by placing a tract onto this thank you balloon. The #DailyTractChallenge was to put a tract in a unique place!

Day 150727: In the stairwell

Jesus said “as you go” make disciples. I take that literally. Our seminar teaches people how to share the Gospel “as you go” to work, “as you go” to school, “as you go” to the store, etc. You get the idea.

At work I takes the stairs to the fifth floor. At least once a day. Depends if I have a chance to go for a walk during the day, or out to lunch. Sometimes during the day I’ll pass someone on the stairs going the other direction. And there are some others who will generally take the stairs. But, let’s say at 7AM when I typically arrive at the office, it is generally not crowded at all. As I approached the top flights of the stairs I could hear some voices.

When I reached the fifth floor, two workmen were there about to go up onto the roof and then onto the platform used – as they are painting the building. I said a quick hello to them and then said, “Are you doing today what you were created to do?” and I handed one of them the tract with that question on it. Since I only had brought one of those tracts, I handed the other a Get Out of Hell Free card. We had a brief conversation and I explained to them that no matter what job we have we can do it to the glory of God – once we know Jesus!

I had several other opportunities to share the Gospel. Craig and I met for lunch and witnessing at one of our local favorite fishing holes – Grapevine Mills Mall. When ordering lunch, I gave a tract to the cashier. I could not recall which tract I had given him last week. So I asked. He remembered it was the 2+2=, and then I let him pick from the supply I had in my hand.

The gentleman that I had given the Truth May Impact Your Opinion book, the week before had read part of the book. We had a very brief follow-up conversation with him before a customer came. So I’ll check back with him next week.

We had several other good one on one conversations.

Update: July 31
Going into the office this morning I found the two tracts shoved into the faucet handle of the fire system. I guess they must not have liked them.
