Tracts Out On Halloween

Halloween 2013 is over. I had a great time giving out the two new Halloween tracts. I gave out 20 at Walmart on Monday night along with 8 Spanish tracts. There were many places to leave these tracts. I placed a lot in Halloween bags, gift bags, and pumpkins at different stores. I even put a few in greeting cards. This evening, I gave out my last 20 at Walmart in West Monroe. I talked to an employee, Devonte, who was working on candy displays. I gave one to a man that was dressed up like Willie from Duck Dynasty. The men that worked at McDonald’s in the back received tracts to read during a slow time. While in the checkout line, I gave three to men in another line. Before leaving the store, I gave one to Luis in the liquor section. He is from Lewisville. I also gave him a Spanish million dollar bill that I had from the Texas State Fair outreach. My last Halloween tract went to a gay man who works at the gas pumps.
I enjoy using seasonal tracts. They open up doors for conversations. People usually take them. I didn’t have any rejects with these tracts. Some members of the tract club gave these out along with candy tonight. Prayerfully, someone was saved through the efforts of those who distributed these tracts! Now, it’s time for Thanksgiving!

Witnessing at the Ferrari Dealership

The other day my friend and I were driving to go to the mall. As we were driving we came2013-10-26 10.40.06 across an open house at the local Ferrari dealership. We decided to turn around and go look at the cars. And while we were there it was a good opportunity to share the Gospel with people that were also looking at these cars.

After striking up a conversation with someone we’d segway the conversation by asking, “if this car were left to sit here in this field for 250 years, what do you think would happen to it.” Over and over again the person 2013-10-26 11.24.23would say “it would rot” or “nothing would be left of it.”

So then we would ask, whet do you think will happen to you in 250 years from now? They would agree that they would be dead. And then we got to ask “where would you be? Heaven or Hell?”2013-10-26 11.22.33

We had some really good conversations. We got to encourage a couple of believers. And we got to share the Gospel with some who said they had never heard it before!

So make the most of every opportunity. Sometimes simply stopping to look at cars could turn into an opportunity to share the Gospel. And it does not have to be million dollar cars like these, but could be simply to ask someone about their car!

Gift Cards

I have found that gift cards at check out lines are a great place to ad a tract. These cards are “glued” onto the cardboard back and hanging on a peg. That allows you to stick the tract between the gift card and the cardboard back!

If you open up the box of Velveeta, the tract fits perfectly inside!

As You Go Shopping

Went to the grocery store with my wife. Had to make two stops. One at Whole Foods and one at Target. I grabbed a stack of tracts as we walked out the door to go. I probably had 40 tracts with me. Gave tracts to several employees and customers. Also left several tracts around the store!

This pumpkin display made a nice place to add a tract. There was a store employee working there providing samples. So while sampling the products I was able to share the Gospel with her.

Moving on from there we came across this aisle with a display of cookies. The cookies had both Christmas and Halloween themes. It was really interesting because just that morning our pastor was talking about how Christmas sales start earlier and earlier. One of the employees was there by the display and I had a brief conversation 2013-10-20 17.43.36about the cookies and the Gospel with him. He also received a tract!

While driving between stores we had to stop for gas. So I left a tract at the gas pump!

The Everyday Club Report For The Month Of October

Hi Club Members,
This month seemed to fly by! With the holidays coming in the next two months, time will seem to go by even quicker! Please report on how you did this past month in your evangelism efforts. This was a very exciting month for me. I was able to meet Carl in person for the first time to be at the State Fair of Texas Gospel Outreach on Oct. 19. We were at the fair all day long, joined by a great group of people that included about 30 students from the Gospel For Asia School of Discipleship. Carl said that we probably gave out around 7500 tracts altogether! It was an encouraging day!
How did you do this month? Dd you meet or exceed your goals? Did you hear of someone being saved through tract distribution or through a conversation? We look forward to hearing from everyone! Have another great month as we head toward Thanksgiving!
Witnessing wishes,
Scott

More With The Happy Halloween Tract

As we were at Books-A-Million and Walmart on Monday night, we left tracts throughout both stores. There is over a week left to use tracts for Halloween. The displays cry “Leave a tract here!” Even though you can’t hear them, people are saying “I need the Gospel”! We can use natural subjects to swing to spiritual conversations! Let’s take advantage of any & every opportunity to get people to think about their sin, soul, and the Saviour!
