Day 11: B-Dubs

Went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. I gave a number of Celebrate Freedom tracts to employees. When our waiter game we ordered water to drink and he asked if we had any questions. I said, “Yes, do you know what happens after YOLO?” and handed him one of the YOLO tracts from the June mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club. He said, “do you mean the life after this life?” I said yes and asked if he knew where he was going to spend it. He professed to be a Christian and we talked for a few minutes.

After dinner we went to a gas station to wash the window on my car. Since the buckets of water were all empty, I had to pass by art least five pumps to find one that had some water to wash my window. In the process I put tracts in five pumps, handed one to one man who was pumping gas and had a short conversation with him!

Day 10: return address envelope

I went to work and came home without coming in contact with anyone to hand a tract to. So I took some business reply 2015-06-10 18.20.56envelopes that had come in the mail and put tracts in them including one of the #YOLO tracts from the June mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club and then put the envelopes back into the mailbox to go out.

Business reply envelopes are a simple way to share the gospel.

After going to the mailbox my wife and I decided to go out to dessert. At the ice cream place I had the opportunity to give out about 10 more tracts. Then we went to Dave & Busters to hand out some tracts. While we were there we played some video games, air hockey and skeeball.

We are now 10 days into the month. The table below summarizes how many of the  June tract club mailing tracts have been distributed so far.

Tract Distributed Dates
YOLO 2 of 7 4, 10
Thank You 4 of 7 1, 2, 8, 9
Are you a Good Person? 1 of 7 7
NASCAR Trivia 3 of 7 3, 5, 6

Day 9: A little taste of Hawaii

A friend referred us to a new snow cone place. It’s about 25 miles from home. But, I thought it would be a fun date with my wife. So we drove out to check it out. The place has a whole Hawaiian theme where even the names of all the flavors are in Hawaiian so I actually had no idea what I was ordering. Both owners were there and one of them told me all about the place and why he had opened it. He got the Thank You tract from the June mailing. He said he would keep it in his wallet! The other owner and several of those that were working there got Thank You tracts too!

As we were leaving, the sun was setting and we could see a beautiful sunset. So I my wife and I had a little chuckle like we had been on a trip to Hawaii! Need to do that someday. I bet we could share the Gospel with a lot of people on the trip!

Day 8: VW Dealership

We had an appointment at the VW Dealership to learn more about the dealership. I gave some of the “Are you doing what you were created to do” to their director of marketing. We got to tour the entire dealership which was very interesting. Afterwards we looked at a couple of cars and drove two of them. The sales person got a Thank You tract from the June mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club.

Day 7: Out to lunch

After church a group of us went to lunch at a local restaurant. The waitress and cashier each received Gospel tracts as we left. Later in the afternoon my wife and I went to redbox to get a movie. I left a Are You a Good Person tract from this months tract club mailing there at the Redbox machine.

Day 6: Trip to Farmers Market

Today I was able to share the Gospel with a number of people. Saturday started like most – with Bible study and prayer at church from 6:30-8AM.

As we left, myself and another friend were in the parking lot talking when a car pulled up and two guys came over to us. They said they were with Spring and asked if they could get into the building to work on something. Since I did not have the authority to give them access to the building I made a quick phone call and got permission. Then I asked them each what their plans were for after work. They told me. I then asked what they planned for tomorrow, the next day, next year. You get the picture. They had a few things that they had planned. So I asked the really important question, what plans do you have for 100 years from now. They did not really want to talk much. But they had come to our church so I figured they should hear the 2015-06-06 12.23.56gospel. I gave them each Bible bookmarks and asked them to look up the verses and answer the 10 questions.

My wife and I made a trip to two Farmers Markets. The first stop however was at the RaceTrac to refill our #sodapalooza cups with iced tea. One of the associates was working near the drinks. I asked if he liked NASCAR. He said he did, so I gave him the NASCAR trivia tract. He said thanks and I asked him to check out the message on the back.

At Farmers Market I was able to give tracts to a number of people. One lady had the name of her farm based on what I assumed was a Biblical reference. So I asked and I was right. I shared a tract with her and then asked her if she’d like some more to give to her customers. She said yes and took a stack of tracts. It is encouraging when other believers will take tracts to give out.

I was also able to hand out a number of tracts at lunch and at a quick shopping stop. Along the way today I also found two “business card’ and “gift card” racks where I left some tracts.

Day 5: NASCAR Trivia

Didn’t get out much today. Went to work and then back home. During one break during the day I was walking out side the office and was able to give a NASCAR Trivia Tract to someone.

Carl Bill

June 4th was the First Thursday of the month. Thus, our monthly prayer meeting at City Hall. I had an awesome surprise. At 10:50 in the morning I got a text from Bill (from North Carolina) saying “I’m here at City Hall”. He was an hour early! While I knew he was in Dallas for the weekend, I did not realize he was coming for prayer. I left work and we were able to meet for lunch. I gave a #YOLO tract to the woman behind the counter making my sandwich at Quiznos. Asked her if she knew what YOLO meant. She looked puzzled by it. I asked her to read the back and she said she would.

Bil and I had a great visit over lunch. Two people were taking a cater to their car. I shared Bible bookmarks with both of them. At noon we headed over to City Hall to pray by the flag poles. Two men were walking buy and I went over to them and said, “Did you get one of these?” The first took one. The second asked, “What is it?” I told him it was a Bible bookmark. At that he simply turned and walked off -without taking one.

We used Hebrews 13, especially verse 8 as the guide for our prayer time. While we were praying for our nation, leaders and revival, a woman who worked in City Hall came and joined us for prayer. Afterwards we had a good conversation with her.

Day 3: Gas pump and more

I had plenty of opportunities to share the Gospel today. I met a friend for lunch at Chik-FIl-A. The service at Chick-Fil-A is great. One thing I like is that while one person is the cashier, another brings your food and another gets your drink. That’s three people to give tracts to. Plus while waiting for my order, several people came for drink refills and they got tracts too. While eating some people at a nearby table asked if they could have one of the chairs from our table to pull up a fifth person to theirs. I agreed! Then as we were leaving I went back to that table and said, “excuse me, but since we gave you one of our 2015-06-03 17.50.32chairs, I’d also like to give you each one of these.” Each of the five people got a tract. They were glad to receive them and said thanks. One of the tracts was the NASCAR trivia so I asked if anyone liked NASCAR. One teen aged girl said yes, so she actually got two tracts.

After work, I went to the gas station. I put gas in the car and the NASCAR trivia tract from the tract club mailing went into the credit card slot! When I went inside to get a drink, I gave a Thank You tract to the manager and iPhone texting tracts to two other employees. A man was walking into the lobby as I was leaving so he got a Bucket List tract.

My wife and I went out to dinner. After parking the car we were walking to the restaurant. Four valet’s were standing there so I walked up and handed one of them a “tetelestai” tract and said, “here is my ticket”. One of them gladly took it and then looked kind of puzzled. I gave the other three tracts also and asked them if they knew what “tetelestai” meant. We had a brief conversation and they thanked me for the tracts.

A few employees at the restaurant got tracts as we were seated. The waitress got one with a generous tip!

If you’d like to receive 30 FREE Gospel Tracts per month so that you can hand out one each day then enroll in the Bezeugen Tract Club.

Day 2: Thank you at the Bank

I had to stop at the bank to deposit a check. After the cashier had completed the transaction I handed her a Thank You tract.

I also had a repair man come to my house to provide an estimate on some work. He had called about two and a half hours before the appointment to see if he could come early. However, since I was at work an hour away I was not able to meet him earlier. He told me that he spent the time playing Angry Birds! As we were wrapping up our business I asked him to wait just a minute because I had something I wanted to give him. I got him a copy of The Truth May Impact Your Opinion. I told him that next time he had some time to kill between appointments he could read this instead of playing a game. He thanked me a couple of times for the book. I’ll be seeing him again when he comes back to complete the estimate. So it will give an opportunity to ask if he has read the book.
